Jim Bult founded MBI in 1980 with 1 tractor and himself as the driver. With a dedication to constant improvements in equipment specification and customer service Mr. Bult has grown the Company to its current size of over 1300 tractors. Mr. Bult has served as CEO throughout the history of MBI and still remains involved in daily operations.

Tony Schmidt | President
Tony Schmidt began his career in the transportation industry over 45 years ago in the maintenance side of the business. He joined MBI in 1995 when the company had only 37 tractors. Mr. Schmidt became General Manager in 1998 and was named President of MBI in 2007. He also serves on the board of the Illinois Trucking Association.

David Huitsing | Area VP, East
David Huitsing came to MBI in June of 2002. He joined our Management team in August of 2005. He has a strong background in metal fabrication and has served in the transportation industry for the past 15 years.

Rich Borgetti | CFO
Rich joined MBI in October, 2007 as Controller after spending more than 20 years in various accounting / financial roles with various transportation and equipment manufacturers.

James Lanenga joined MBI in June of 2016 after 17 years in the solid-waste industry. James has held multiple roles in different market places including driver, sales, supervision, operations manager and implementing change management in a region support position.

Shane Schmidt | Director of Maintenance
Shane Schmidt joined MBI in July 2013. Mr. Schmidt has been in the transportation industry for over 16 years. He served the last 13 years as the director of maintenance for another waste transfer company.

Kevin Burns | Director of Safety

Kevin Burns joined MBI in March of 2018 after 23 years in the waste industry. Kevin has held various roles in different markets including General Manager, Operations Manager and Supervision. He has managed multiple overall facility operations, safety and compliance as well as capital improvement projects.
